Licenses are used to license the FIN Framework software
- FIN Framework is licensed by the number of CAPs and HIS. CAPs are defined as data that is modeled in the real-time database. Histories or HIS are defined as data that is collected in the historian database. HIS are dependent on CAPs and can be added to the job license up to 100% of the total number of CAPs in the project

CAPs provide the entire functionality of a point except for historization. As such, these cannot be trended and cannot be utilized in other applications that require time series data. HIS tags add the additional historization functionality to CAPs so they can be archived and utilized in other applications that require time series data

Standard CAPs licenses are called “FIN license xxx CAPs” and include per default 20% HIS tags capable. As an example, a 100 CAPs license provides for 20 of the 100 CAPs a HIS tag. If more HIS tags are needed, the license can be extended by adding “FIN License add xxx HIS”. HIS tags can only be extended to max no greater than the level of the CAPs size. In the case of the 100 CAPs license, you can therefore add 80 HIS tags
