FIN License Change Policy
FIN license Host ID changes may be necessary when a license needs to be transferred to a new device or project, or when certain hardware or operating system updates are applied to an existing device.
Our goal is to ensure smooth and transparent processes for managing your FIN licenses. Below are the details of our policies for license changes:
Active Maintenance Requirement
Active maintenance is required for all Host ID changes (FIN-LICS-CHG).
If your maintenance is current:
- Provide PO for the FIN-LICS-CHG including:
- Old Host ID:
- New Host ID:
- Old Licensee/Project Name:
- New Licensee/Project Name:
- We will provide a quote for maintenance renewal and the applicable license change fee.
- Written approval via email or a PO for the required maintenance renewal is required before proceeding.
Urgent Emergency Changes
We understand that emergencies happen. Host ID changes can be processed under urgent circumstances if:
- You agree via email or PO to renew license maintenance to be active.
- Alternatively, your J2 Account Manager can approve an exception for urgent processing.
Fee Waivers & Exceptions
The FIN-LICS-CHG fee may be waived under specific circumstances, including:
- Hardware Failure: If the hardware (e.g., F200/NEXIO) fails within two years of purchase.
- Large CAP Bundle Addition: If you’re adding more than 1,000 CAPs and a new Host ID is required simultaneously, the fee can be waived.
-
Mistyped Host ID: Corrections to Host ID errors (e.g., incorrect/missing characters or using a MAC address instead of the correct Host ID) made during the license’s initial creation period are exempt from the FIN-LICS-CHG fee.
- Exceptions: J2 Account Managers can approve an exception for urgent processing.
