License Types
J2 Innovations offers different license types for different device platforms and engineering purposes.
FIN Server Licensing
-
The Standard Server products are provided for running FIN on a server or 3rd party controls hardware.
- Standard Server licenses range from bundles of 100 up to 100K
- Maintenance is renewed yearly (12 month intervals)
FIN Embedded Licensing
-
The Standard Embedded products and corresponding “embedded multiplier” can be provided for running FIN on an OEM’s own custom controls hardware or approved hardware.
-
With introduction of the F200 hardware the standard Embedded price list has been modified include the new F200 Edge controller that runs embedded FIN license.
- Standard Server licenses range from bundles of 100 up to 5K
- Maintenance is renewed every 2 years (24 month intervals)
FIN Enterprise Licensing
The Enterprise License is a new, cost‑effective option designed for deployments that gather data from edge devices using Haystack or FIN Network. It streamlines server‑side installations by limiting protocol usage to only what is necessary for large‑scale data ingestion.
Supported data protocol:
With the Enterprise License, the following communication protocol are supported:
- Haystack
- FIN Network
- FIN to FIN
All other protocols are automatically disabled and marked as unlicensed when an Enterprise License is detected.
Intended UseThe Enterprise License is designed specifically for server‑side platforms that need to import significant amounts of field‑level data while keeping licensing costs minimized.
- Only the supported protocols listed above remain active.
- All other FIN applications and system features continue to operate normally.
- This licensing option applies to new installations only, not retrofits or upgrades to existing systems.
FIN Development Licensing
-
The need for partners to develop, engineer, and demo the FIN Framework is handled comprehensively with a specially priced and configured custom license part number.
-
This Eng/Dev license is positioned at a cost point that enables partners to outfit their sales, engineering and developers with fully functional FIN license (has dev license banner)
-
A development license has differences from a standard license in that:
-
It comes with Max histories for the CAP size
-
It expires 12 months after the issue date
-
It is not intended to be used for actual project licenses, not even for “temporary use”
-
FIN Training Licensing
-
To meet the need for an easy to use license in the training environment and to cut down on logistical overhead when engaging new perspective customers in a TFfaS environment a "golden" license has been created.
-
This is a no charge license that is fully functional FIN license max histories and 10K CAP size.
-
As a golden license that does not require a host ID, it is important not to distribute outside training environment.
-
The licenses are issued monthly and expire the first of the next month
